Buddha Purnima Celebration

Bodhisukha School, affiliated to CBSE, has organized 2563rd Buddha Purnima on 18th May 2019. On the occasion, the students performed the famous Dance Drama “Chandalika” written by Rabindra Nath Tagore. This famous Buddhist tale was about a girl Chandalika (Prakiti), born in a lower cast. She was outcasted and despised by all her neighbours. She was so much depressed and discouraged. One day Venerable Ananda, the attendance of the Buddha, happened to meet her while coming to fetch water from a well nearby. Being very thirsty, Venerable Ananda asked some water from her. She, being an outcast and in-virtuous, was so much upset to offer water to Ananda. Venerable Ananda explained her virtuousness is not by birth but by action. Chandalika was so much satisfied with what Ananda said, and got so much inspiration throughout her life.

All students present, performers and non-performers, were very glad and got inspired just as Chandalika did.

Here are some inspiring words our students created. Three things cannot be long hidden; the sun, the moon, and the truth.

Faith and Prayer, both are invisible but they make impossible things possible.
